Norway in a Glance Back

Norway, the only Scandinavian country with oil resource, might be as well the wealthiest.
In Oslo, there are current development of new areas with fancy architectures, including the Statoil office and Opera house.
One of my favourite is the Tjuvholmen area, the modern waterfront area with lots of dining and drinking bars as well as museums and living places.

Norway in a nutshell, a best seller plan, from Oslo to Bergen, combining various type of transport including train and ferry, passing the mountains and fjords.

Still in my bucket list is the hiking in Norway fjords, including the famous Trolltunga (Troll's tongue).

Oslo, the city

Karl Johan Gate
The main pedestrian street, stretched from Oslo Central Station to the Royal Palace.

Akershus Fortress

Nice old fortress in the waterfront next to the City Hall park.

City Hall and its waterfront park

A nice place to relax, remind me of Yokohama Yamashita Park.
Akershus Fortress is in on one edge and Nobel Peace Center is on the other edge.
The ferry for Bigdoy Peninsula (Oslo Pass can be used, but no Ruter Pass) departs from here.

Nobels Fredssenter

Not included in Oslo Pass.
Loved this place better than Nobel Prize Center in Stockholm.

Museums at Bygdøy Peninsula

Fram Museum
Oslo Pass.
Features the vessel Fram, the worlds first ice breaker and the last polar expedition ship made of wood, and presents a history of polar exploration.

Kon Tiki
Oslo Pass.
Displays Tor Heyerdahl's balsa raft Kon-Tiki, and Ra II, as well as some other artefacts from Easter Island.

Vikingskipshuset
Oslo Pass.
There are 3 viking ships inside. Not that big ship.
