Our hike starts in Landmannalaugar as we walk through this geothermal wonderland and look at the colorful mountains and steaming hot springs. We walk by the beautiful hot spring Stórihver before crossing into the obsidian desert by Hrafntinnusker. We spend the night in the hut in Hrafntinnusker, one of the most remote huts in Iceland. Distance: 12km (7.5 mi) Walking time: 4-5 hrs Ascent: 470 m (1540 ')

Our hike started from Landmannalaugar, a beautiful hot spring place.
Too bad we didn't have enough time to bath.
As mentioned in the original itinerary, we supposed to walk only 4-5 hours this day, but finally it ended up we walked 11 hours (see Part 2).
The car that bringing our luggages couldn't approach Hrafntinnusker, the remote hut we supposed to stay that night, due to heavy snow.
We did stop at the hut, for a soup break. Small hut. Happy we didn't stay in this hut, but in the beautiful lake Álftavatn for 2 nights instead.
The walk up to this hut was OK, but from this hut, the visibility became worse due to smog and snow fall.
